Education

Developing a qualified workforce to support the growth of the nation.

The Sultanate’s current economic scenario provides a variety of opportunities for ASAAS to explore in both the public and private sector, whilst demographic trends and improved standards of living remain favourable factors for investors.

There are over 1,000 schools in Oman, however developments in specialised institutions, higher education, teacher training, private schools, and educational services are all imperatives to ensure the sector’s continued upward trajectory.

Due to the size, youth and growth of Oman’s population, the nationwide demand for more schools remains, with a particular need for private and specialised institutes of higher education.

Demographic scenarios remain favourable and encourage investment.

As per the 8th 5 year development plan (2011-2015) of Vision 2020, Oman’s education budget increased by 48% with the principal task of ensuring the development of a qualified national workforce capable of driving continued growth and increased competitiveness.

ASAAS is now engaging the ministries of education, higher education and manpower, as well as The Research CouncilSultan Qaboos University and the Education Council to identify and maximise all relevant opportunities.

Educational expenditure in Oman increased by 48% between 2011-2015.
